Volunteering with GACR

Volunteers are always needed to work in the cat shelter and assist in the Thrift Store.

Cat Shelter Volunteers: Volunteers on the cat side perform a large assortment of tasks and duties. These tasks consist of cleaning the shelter, doing the laundry, taking cats to and from the vet, shopping for supplies, following up on adoption phone calls, grant writing, sending Thank You cards, posting of records, and fundraising and volunteer training.

Thrift Store Volunteers: Volunteers accept donations, sort, straighten, help customers, and occasionally pick up donations. The thrift store is a fun place to volunteer, make new friends, discover exciting treasures! Plus, you will know that you are making a wonderful difference in the community! Please, stop in and visit us any Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday…our door is always open.

We ask that volunteers donate as little as one day a week on a continual basis, as this entire organization is manned by volunteers, and we count heavily on your commitment. Keep in mind that some tasks can be done right from the comfort of your home. If interested in volunteering, please call the shelter at 501-623-3484, leave your name and number, along with a brief message, and someone will return you call. Volunteering is truly a gift from the heart!
