DONATING TO GUARDIAN ANGELS CAT RESCUE & ADOPTION SHELTER

Monetary donations are the lifeblood of the Shelter. Without the support of the public, the Shelter could not continue its valuable work in the community or support the cats and kittens that it houses.

The average cost of processing each cat that comes into the facility is $90. This allows the Shelter to test the cat for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), spay or neuter, administer vaccinations, deworm and deflea the cat, and have him or her checked by a veterinarian.  This cost does not allow for emergency medical or surgical procedures, or routine upkeep, however.

Operating costs of the Shelter average around $70,000 per year.  This includes rent, utilities, food, supplies, and veterinary expenses and so on.

Although Guardian Angels Cat Rescue & Adoption Shelter is successful in obtaining some grant monies, this income is limited, unpredictable and allows the Shelter to operate its Community Programs such as spay and neuter assistance.

Adoption fees are set at $40 per cat or kitten, the standard throughout Garland County.  These fees are applied to the care that the adopted cat has received while at the Shelter.

Monetary donations may be made in person or via the US Postal Service.

The Shelter urges animal lovers to remember its work in your will. A small bequest can go a long way in improving the lives of animals in the community and maintaining a safe haven for those left homeless.
